Traffic police personnel are true heroes of the country. Their sacrifices don’t go unnoticed, as their daily dedication ensures that road users remain safe and secure on the road. And as for these Malaysian traffic officers, they’ve truly outdone themselves with their extraordinary efforts!

A recent video shared by @erywahab shows him and 3 other traffic police officers getting their hands dirty to ensure the safety of road users.

They went barefoot and used sticks to unclog the drain

In the video, Ery and his colleagues are seen barefoot, using wooden sticks to unclog a drain along Jalan Tun Razak which was causing the area to flood.

He explained that their intentions were pure, and their actions were not about blaming anyone but fulfilling their responsibility as traffic officers to ensure the road’s safety.

“As traffic officers, we spend a lot of time on the roads, dealing with all sorts of challenges that could potentially lead to accidents. We took it upon ourselves to unclog the drain to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety,” he said.

They wanted to ensure public safety for road users

Ery went on to explain that although unclogging the drain isn’t part of their job description, they couldn’t just ignore the frequent accidents, broken-down vehicles, and natural disasters like floods, standing water, and fallen trees that could pose a risk to the public.

He revealed that he and his fellow traffic officers are always ready to help manage traffic and support the community.

Ery then shared some advice with WORLD OF BUZZ, saying,

“People shouldn’t wait for authorities to take action. The public can also step up, as long as it’s not dangerous. If we make things easier for others, things will be easier for us in the future.”

“Great job, sir! Even though it’s not your primary responsibility, you’re stepping up to help the community. The parties involved should recognise and fulfill their own responsibilities.”
