Adopting a pet is a huge responsibility, as an animal has needs and can become emotionally attached to their owner, just like how a human baby can become attached to their mother.
Hence is why people who can easily dump their pets should not be pet owners in the first place.
Animal rescue organisation, Ruff Love Malaysia, took to their Instagram account to showcase how a Malaysian woman had adopted a dog from them, only to threaten to dump the dog if they don’t take it back as she had received a job posting overseas and no longer had interest in keeping the dog.
They wrote, “Remember this cutie? This is Teh. She was recently returned to us, even though we do not have the space for her as we are at maximum capacity. Teh was adopted a year ago, and her owners now have to move overseas, and threatened to abandon her if we do not take her in.”
Sadly for the poor dog, this isn’t the 1st time she was abandoned.
“When we first found Teh, we found her abandoned along with her sister, tied to a pole on the street. We did not want her fate to repeat as she really is a darling. We have now made space for her and she is one again available for adoption.”
“Teh was returned to us with some skin issues, which she did not have when she was with us. We are now in the process of getting her healthy and happy again. It is not easy for dogs to be abandoned, no matter the circumstances. Teh’s spirit is not what it used to be, and we are trying out best to ensure that she never feels abandoned ever again,” Ruff Love Malaysia explained.
They also showcased the conversation they had with the owner, where she threatened to dump Teh if Ruff Love Malaysia doesn’t take her back.
“Please, if you plan to move, either make contingency plans for your pet, relocate them along with you, or do not adopt at all. Animals have feelings, and it is unfair to leave them behind.”
Want to help? Here’s how!
Ruff Love Malaysia is open to financial help for Teh’s treatments and if you’re interested in taking Teh home with you, PERMANENTLY, you can.
“Teh has been spayed and needs to be vaccinated again, and also is to undergo treatment for her skin. If you would like to donate to Teh’s medical bills and food, you can make your donation to 1641 5561 3331 (Maybank).”
“Teh is now looking for her forever home again, and we hope and pray that this will be her last. She is a goofy, happy and very good dog, who has basic training and has lived in an apartment. If you can open your heart and your home to Teh, please send us a message,” Ruff Love Malaysia added.
