Ambitious children are a joy to come by, not just because they found a passion in something they’d like to potentially pursue as a full-time career, but also as a reflection of the work they will put in to achieve said goals, even at a young age.
Such an instance was recently captured by one Malaysian mother named Fasya Farahin, when she caught a moment of her son marching alongside a group of soldiers for an army-related celebration. In the clip, which was shared to Fasya’s TikTok account @fasyafarahin, the little boy watched an army of soldiers, and decided to mimic their march by standing in one spot just a few feet away from them.
At one point, an army soldier passed the kid and gave him a thumbs up, encouraging him to continue with the rest of the soldiers. The little boy, whom Fasya lovingly calls Aish, not only moved to the proper beat by using his feet, but matched his hand gestures and movements to that of the soldiers as well.
A little fact that made the clip more heart-warming was the fact that Aish was actually watching and following the movements of his dad, who was also in the line-up carrying out the performance. According to Fasya, her husband is a member of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
“Daddy, when I’m older, I want to be a soldier just like you. Can I?” wrote Fasya in the caption of her post, sharing what Aish himself said to his dad after the performance.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Fasya revealed that the performance took place at Dataran Segamat, and was conducted as part of celebrating the Malaysian Army’s 91st anniversary. In relation to her son’s interest in the army, Fasya stated that Aish hopes to become a bridged paratrooper in the future.
“We actually were in the process of getting a matching costume for him, but it wasn’t finished in time. He was a little sad that he didn’t get to wear it for the event, but he performed alongside the soldiers nonetheless!” said Fasya to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Garnering a massive response in the comments section, multiple Malaysians also spoke on their own family members who had big aspirations when they were kids, and then grew up to really pursue those dreams as full-time jobs.
“Oh, this makes me think of my baby brother. When he was small, he used to play in a hut near our house. When we asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said a policeman, and if not, a soldier for the army. Now, he is part of the Royal Military Police Corps,” touchingly shared one user.
All in all, many commenters also applauded Aish’s abilities while marching in the video, and encouraged the kid to continue working hard in pursuit of potentially becoming a soldier one day.
