Malaysians are known for collecting, sometimes even rare items. However, what happens when collecting transforms into a serious hoarding issue?

In a recently viral TikTok video by @aainaa.nordin, she sheds light on the hoarding situation her parents faced at home, ranging from containers to an endless selection of clothing.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she shared that her parent’s house is located in Seremban. She also revealed that the entire decluttering process took a dedicated three days.

They strategically chose a day when her parents were away on Umrah, allowing them to execute the decluttering plan efficiently within the limited weekend timeframe.

“We only had the weekend to get the job done because 3 out of 6 siblings weren’t staying nearby, so we had to execute the plan perfectly,” she explained.

Before getting into the cleaning process, they identified items to keep, discard, or replace. The commitment went beyond than just cleaning, as they went the extra mile to repaint the walls, transforming the living space.

Malaysians were quick to share their experiences in decluttering as well.

“We did the same thing to our mother’s house right after my father passed away. We ordered four roro barrels, and my mother told everyone that her children were trying to get her out of the house.”

“I recently decluttered my mother’s house. I rented roro barrels, and all of them were completely filled. It’s satisfying to see how spacious the house is now.”

“My mother was recently in the ward for dengue. My sister and I helped declutter our mother’s house and then went straight back home to KL. When our mother finally recovered, she was not happy with the ‘cleaning’ that had taken place.”

The entire satisfying transformation can be witnessed in the video below which has since garnered 3.4 MILLION views!

There’s an undeniable satisfaction in witnessing a home makeover, especially when it involves transforming a space. Kudos to Aina and her siblings for not only creating a more organized living environment but also bringing joy and contentment to their parents.
