Be it warehouse sales or a bowling alley, communal clothing is not something uncommon for some leisurely activities organised by service providers. With that being said, most Malaysians won’t be too keen to try a garment or footwear worn by numerous people before them. Luckily for us, one man recently shared a useful tip for those who don’t feel like trying on 30 pairs of shoes to find a great fit.
A Malaysian water sports expert who goes by John Rambo on TikTok recently took to his page @johnrambo_87 to share a useful tip for those who need to determine what their shoe size is. In respect to his video, John provided his tip in reference to water shoes, which are footwear to aid in walking through pebbly or sandy beaches.
Providing his insight and opinion, John stated that one’s shoe size is the same length as their own forearm, which measures from the elbow to their wrist.
Grabbing a few pairs of footwear in the clip, John proceeded to show the accuracy of said measurement, displaying that shoes shorter than his forearm would be too small, while those which extended above his elbow or wrist would be too big.
Receiving immense attention for this neat yet insightful hack, multiple Malaysians alluded to trying this method themselves, revealing that it had worked for them too. On the other side of things, a few also joked about measuring their foot size using their forearm in real-time, as they watched John in the video.

However, just as every clothing and fashion hack goes: not every measurement will be precise nor garner a perfect fit. Take this with a pinch of salt, and try it out the next time you’re on a shopping spree!
