Being a security guard is a respectable profession, despite what some people might think. Their dedication to keeping watch and dealing with tough situations makes a big difference in keeping our communities safe and secure.

Reporting for duty!

In the video, a staff member can be seen leaving the premises but suddenly stops next to a security guard, who politely wishes him a safe journey home.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Azhar shared how he works at an industrial training institute in Kuala Terengganu where he met the security guard in the video.

He continued to reveal that every time a staff member or visitor passes through the gate to leave, the security guard always wishes each and every one of them a safe journey.

A sign of respect

Azhar then explained how he intentionally stops near the guard post because he knows the security guard always offers greetings and prayers.

He noted that the security guard’s initiative is entirely his own, as the department has never issued such instructions for him or any other guards to do so.

“Whenever he’s on duty, I make sure to salute him from inside my car as a sign of respect.”

Azhar continued to share how dedicated the security guard is to his duties. Sometimes, the institute’s staff would invite him for a drink, but he always politely declines because he’s on duty.

“Some might see the job as low class, but it’s really not. Security guards deserve our respect too. Any job is a good job if we do the work with sincerity in our hearts.”
