Taking to its official Twitter account, MOH replied to a tweet by @cikgu_anep recounting the exposé by the food reviewer on the alleged ‘special ingredient’ by the restaurant for customers that they do not like.

In the tweet, MOH said that it took note of the matter and will follow up with the necessary actions.

Among the things that MOH would be investigating is in regards to the restaurant owner’s unsettling statement that hints at a nasty “special ingredient” in the food being served to negative food reviewers.

However, since the whole matter became viral, the restaurant owner backtracked on the claims and instead said that it was all a marketing strategy.

Furthermore, the restaurant owner in a social media post said that the “special ingredient” claim is just a prank.

The statement also elaborated that the restaurant doesn’t mind food reviewers and influencers dining at the joint as negative reviews won’t affect the business because it already has a loyal customer base.

The post asserted,

“Regarding the drama around this ‘special ingredient’, it’s only an explosive marketing strategy. Don’t worry, your food is safe to eat. It’s just a prank.”

“Apologies for all this drama. The whole of Malaysia has been fooled. Anyways, thanks for supporting my business.”

Despite the statement, many netizens in the comments section still urge MOH to investigate and take action against the restaurant.

One commenter said ‘good luck’ to the restaurant as MOH has already taken note of the situation.
