There is quite the market for toy and figurine collection in Malaysia these day, causing a surge in prices for many of these items.

But, sometimes, sellers might not know the value of these toys and may price them too lowly, such to the delight of buyers.

One Malaysian realised that a Hot Wheels seller was severely underpricing the collectables and decided to pay them just a little extra, as showcased in a post by The Viral Stories. But what makes this worse is that, even after the buyer decided to increase the price a little for the seller, the item is still apparently being sold too cheaply.

The Viral Stories wrote, “Just like that they got tricked. If you want to resell Hot Wheels, make sure to check out how much the market value is first, so that you won’t be at a loss. This one was sold at such a cheap price.”

In the post, they included a screenshot of the WhatsApp conversation between the buyer and the seller, where the seller stated that they were selling the Hot Wheels model for RM60.

Shocked by the price, the buyer asked, “Seriously bro, only RM60?”

“It’s okay, after this I’ll transfer RM100, a little more for you to spend,” they buyer added, to which the seller was appreciative of.

A loss of RM1,100!

Though, what the seller didn’t realise is that this very Hot Wheels model was going for RM1,200 online.

“You guys can check out the original price. That’s a month’s salary to buy it, it’s a rare item. Collectors are looking for this (model),” The Viral Stories added.

While the seller did mention that they were letting the collectables go to clear their stock, they could have easily earned so much more from the sales.
