A one-year-old Malaysian boy died on the first day he was put under the care of a nanny.

According to Harian Metro, Muhammad Aydan Firas Muhammad Faris Azim was pronounced dead on 3rd February at a private hospital in Setapak.

His mother said that the post-mortem results showed no elements of crime, but the cause of death is still unknown until full report is completed.

Safiah, 29, said she received a call from the nanny, who told her that her son was unconscious and had turned blue at the nanny’s home in Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur.

She rushed her son to the clinic that referred him to a private hospital.

“I did not think that the first day I send my son to the nanny would be the last day my husband and I get to see him alive,” she said.

“As soon as we reached the hospital, the doctor confirmed that Muhammad Aydan had passed away. His body was then taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for an autopsy.”

Safiah said that the boy was previously taken care of by her family members, but because she wanted him to get along with other children, she decided to send him to a nanny.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Rajab Ahad Ismail said that investigations are still ongoing and that the police will announce the cause of death once they receive the full forensic report.

Safiah then expressed that she and her husband have accepted their son’s death and hopes that the truth will prevail so that they will know what caused his death.
