Can a relationship survive without money? A woman from Kelantan recently shared her opinion that a man without financial stability is a walking red flag.

The woman, Tasha, said she had encountered many men who were not financially stable, and at times, she had to pay for their dates, even at Mamak restaurants.

In a street interview currently circulating on Threads, Tasha recounted one particular date where she had to pay RM15 for a meal at a Mamak restaurant. She described the experience as “saddening” and said it had happened to her multiple times.

Beyond financial concerns, Tasha added that another dealbreaker for her is a man who hasn’t moved on from a past relationship.

She then shared what she looks for in a relationship: a man with money, or more specifically, someone with a provider mindset. Unfortunately, she believes such men are hard to find in Malaysia.

“There are no men with a provider mindset in Malaysia. Weak!”

Tasha also described her personal method for filtering men who approach her. First, the man must be “handsome and good-looking.” If he passes that stage, she then observes how many bottles of alcohol he’s willing to spend on.

“If he’s only spending on one bottle, that’s a pass. Thank you very much.”

Do you think a man and woman in a relationship should go Dutch before marriage?
