29-year-old Malaysian actress, Saidah Kamarudin, called off her wedding with 22-year-old actor, Muntazar Ghufran, after she found out that the man had only RM500 in his bank account.

With claims that Muntazar also hacked into her TikTok account and posted defaming comments under her username, the man has broken his silence and said that things are not what they seem. In a recent interview, Muntazar said the RM500 in his bank account did not define his financial status.

“I have gold investment, and I also invested in ASB Financing. Is that wrong?”

Muntazar also said that she had never told Saidah about his investments because they were not married to each other yet, and he was not obligated to be upfront with her about everything. The actor also debunked the RM500 claim, saying that he has other commitments at home, including his car loan, and helping his parents, which will take up more than a mere RM500.

When asked about financial contributions for the engagement, Muntazar said he had given a lot for the event.

“She wanted a grand ceremony for the engagement, and she wanted two rings. One cost RM1,700 with my name on it, another one cost RM790. Does that look like I had no money?”

Muntazar also claimed that Saidah physically hit him once and scratched him on his hand, despite having taken care of her.

“We’re having a thanksgiving ceremony for the end of the relationship”

In another interview, Muntazar’s father, Ghufran Gani, revealed that he and his wife were never fond of the relationship between their son and Saidah. The man dubbed the RM500 in the bank account claim “kid-level defamation”, saying that if Saidah wanted to defame Muntazar, she should’ve come up with a better one.

“You’re 29, but you’re making untrue statements like a kid.”

“We’ll be doing a thanksgiving ceremony because my son has got out of this relationship.”

Ghufran also said that he was not fond of Saidah not only because the actress did not speak to him about calling off the wedding, but also for the lack of effort.

“If you wanted to get married to a man, you should respect his family, too. I don’t see this in Saidah,” Ghufran said.

Ghufran said that his family will be seeing Saidah’s family to resolve the matter amicably, and there is no need to take legal action.
