A 42-year-old woman was suspected to have been murdered by her husband and his mistress, after her body was found abandoned in a car outside of a Hindu temple in Skudai, Johor.
After the police had investigated this incident for more than a month, they ultimately arrested the man and his mistress, as well as an accomplice.
According to a report by Oriental Daily, the man and his mistress, 48-year-old Heng Tang Lee and 45-year-old C. Susila, and their accomplice, 31-year-old Soo Siau Soon, faced a total of 5 charges at the Johor Bahru Magistrate’s Court yesterday (January 22).
The accomplice
The accomplice, Soo, was charged with killing the 42-year-old woman in front of the Hindu temple at 12:50am on December 1, 2024, under Section 302 of the Penal Code. If convicted, he may face the death sentence or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years, and a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.
The husband and his mistress
The husband, Heng, and his mistress, Susila, were both charged with conspiracy to murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which was read together with Section 109 of the same Act.
Heng also faces 2 charges of throwing a scissor blade into a swamp near Taman Tampoi Utama, Johor Bahru, so that Soo can allegedly escape legal action, and possessing a gun without a valid license.
For these offences, he was charged under Section 201 of the Penal Code and Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960.
All of the accused said they understood the charges after the interpreter had read them out in Mandarin.
