Sources said Tong and a friend had gone to the location to meet several acquaintances. Witnesses reported seeing four individuals talking outside the restaurant before several cars arrived at the scene, according to Berita Harian and China Press.

CCTV footage showed three men, each armed with a machete and with their faces covered by jackets and masks, chasing the victim. Tong, who was unarmed, attempted to shield himself with his hands but suffered critical injuries during the attack.

Despite efforts to save him, the victim later died from his injuries.

Tangkak District Police Chief Superintendent Roslan Mohd Talib confirmed the incident and said police would be issuing an official statement.

“Further investigations are ongoing. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he said.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.

Police have urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Investigators are also looking into the motive behind the attack and whether it was linked to any ongoing disputes between the groups.

Meanwhile, police have reminded the public to avoid confrontations and to report any suspicious or violent activities immediately. Stay tuned as we bring you further updates.
