Graduation days are normally days of joy and accomplishment, especially for those doing medical degrees, considering their course takes a lot longer and are a lot more hardcore than other courses.

So it’s only normal for graduates to want to celebrate the auspicious day with their loved ones.

For one Malaysian medical graduate, his graduation was a bittersweet one as his mother could not attend because she was enduring stage 4 breast cancer. In a sad Reddit posting, Cerapcapiq shared a picture he took with his mother at their home on his graduation day while wearing his cap and gown, along with his degree in one arm and his mother around his other arm.

Today I graduate with a medical degree (MBBS) but my mom cant attend the ceremony as she is fighting breast cancer stage 4. Hence I took the pics at home instead. Pray for my mom’s health. from pics

Cerapcapiq wrote, “Today, I graduated with a medical degree (MBBS) but my mother couldn’t attend the ceremony as she is fighting stage 4 breast cancer. Hence, I took my graduation pictures at home instead. Please pray for my mother’s health.”

Both local and foreign netizens felt the graduate’s pain and sent him all their love and prayers.

Considering how much the graduate loves his mother, who knows; with his medical degree, maybe one day he could possibly discover the cure to breast cancer.

Don’t worry, Cerapcapiq, your mother must be insanely proud of you for what you’ve accomplished and the fact that you were with her to celebrate your big day must have made her very happy.

We’re sending all our love and prayers your way!
