As Chinese New Year is approaching, more and more people are lining up at hair salons to get their hair done with the aim of appearing fabulous on chor yat. However, depending on how adventurous you are, dyeing your hair can be pretty dangerous, since some lighter shades tend to involve bleaching and the usage of chemicals.

According to Moretify, a Malaysian netizen recently took to Facebook after her sister’s scalp suffered some nasty consequences in the process of dyeing her hair at a salon. What’s even more shocking was that the whole procedure cost her sister a bomb!

Here’s the brief translation of the Facebook post.

“Yesterday, my sister went to a salon in Holiday Plaza nearby a KFC restaurant to dye her hair. She ended up having her scalp burnt and it was bleeding. In the end, she paid RM950 for the procedure.”

It was understood that the RM950 is inclusive of bleaching, dyeing and trimming her fringe. Not cheap yo!

Although she did clarify prior with the lady boss the processes involved at that price, no clear-cut answer was given as the boss was too busy. Since she had done her hair there twice before, she trusted the boss and went on with it.

Apparently during the bleaching process, the chemical touched her scalp and the boss even used her hands to rub the customer’s scalp! As such, the victim was in pain after the procedure.

As expected, this post went viral on social media as many are planning to dye their hair in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.

“For that price, I can dye my hair nine times! The price is ridiculously expensive!” a netizen said.

“Obviously you can’t get your money back as you won’t be entertained; the important thing is to get your scalp treated to prevent any bacterial infection,” another Facebook user said.

What’s your thoughts on this guys? Would you pay RM950 to get your hair done (even if your scalp doesn’t get damaged in the end)?
