The Covid-19 pandemic which hit Malaysia almost 2 years ago resulted in people losing their jobs. Many Malaysians opted to start their own food stalls as a way to make ends meet.
Last year, a story about a young man who started his business by selling masala tea using a bicycle as his mobile tea shop went viral.
However, what happens when road side stall owners have to go to the toilet? Unsurprisingly, they risk the potential of losing customers as there is nobody to man the stall.
Well in this case, a good Samaritan who was walking by decided to step in and help man the stall whilst the worker went on a toilet break.
The video of the man named Summan was shared by his future sister in law. In the video, Summan can be seen to be serving a customer some masala tea.
His future sister in law says, “The Tea Thambi went to the toilet I think. Summan is taking over the shop.”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Summan explained that he was walking about in the area when he noticed that the Tea Thambi stall was left unmanned whilst a customer was waiting to order.
“I was around the Masjid India area looking for attire for me and my fiancée’s engagement. My mother wanted to get a drink from the stall but I noticed that the boy was missing.”
“A number of people were lining up at his tea stall. I decided to help him with business. So I just started promoting his tea stall and a few customers came to buy his tea,” said Summan.
He added that he managed to serve 5 to 6 customers who bought the drinks for RM1 each. “I passed the money to the guy when he came back,” he said.
“I do not know him and he doesn’t know me but I wanted to help him. I’m proud of that.”
“I’m a staff nurse and I’ve been in this role for the past 10 years. I just love to help people when they are in need,” explained Summan.
“He was so happy when he came back, he didn’t expect me to do that. We then exchanged numbers and I promised to help promote his tea stall.”
He hopes to open his own nursing home in the future.
Thank you to good Samaritans like Summan who never hesitate to help those in need. We wish him and the tea stall all the best for the future.
