One thing that most of us know not to do is to never record in cinemas. Not only is it immoral, it is also something which is against the law.

However, it appears that some Malaysians are either unaware of this rule or do not care about it at all.

In a video which has since gone viral on social media, a woman was caught recording in the cinema with her phone.

When confronted by the cinema staff, she went on to justify her actions and said that since she is a paying customer, she should have the right to do so.

When asked on how long she had been recording and to show the staff the footage, she denied him and said that he doesn’t have the right to touch her phone.

Seeing her get more and more agitated, the staff member then said that he would bring his manager to the scene to deal with her.

The clip the ended with the woman telling the staff member that she will delete the recordings.

Recording for TikTok

Although it is unclear what had happened after the video, eagle eyed netizens managed to find a TikTok account which they believe is by the woman in the video.

In one of the videos on that TikTok account, the woman said that she was on a movie date with her sister to watch local thriller film ‘Eva’.

In the same video, the woman and her sister praised the movie for being amazing and said that although in cinemas no one is allowed to record, they will try their best to record and get clips of it.

So far, the account has 5 different clips of the movie where it can clearly be seen to be recorded via a mobile phone.

Calls for her to be punished

The video which went viral on Twitter has led to netizens calling for the cinema chain to report her to the authorities so that she would end up getting fined.

“Ban her from every cinema. Then she’ll know.”

“Please take action against people like these. I already feel nervous when I want to take an IG  story before the movie starts. She can actually record and post it on TikTok,” said a user.

Another commented, “Next time don’t say you’re calling the manager because they won’t be scared, should’ve just said that you were gonna call the police. Confirm she will delete it straight away.
