One of the biggest signs of independence for young adults and teenagers would be attaining one’s driver’s licence! And while it is a huge feat to accomplish, some can often be intimidated by the processes to attain such a document.

A recent TikTok video has been making waves online after driving instructor name Firdaus Razali from Desalita Driving Institute in Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru, uploaded a clip to his TikTok page, @firdaus.razali, of him giving driving lessons to a young learner.

Rather simple and uncomplicated, the clip merely shows Firdaus handing out tips and notes to the learner during her drive, specifically related to a U-turn that was just a few minutes away. Telling her to relax as the car started moving, the duo had a little chuckle before she successfully made the turn.

While some would denote the clip to being just a regular occurrence for drivers who are practicing their skill on the road, the TikTok video has since gone viral with many Malaysians praising Firdaus for his soft-spoken demeanour and calm approach when teaching the student how to drive.

“Teachers like this are the best because they aren’t being fierce when teaching you,” commented one user. Another user also complimented Firdaus on how he rivals other driving teachers because of his calm disposition.

Nevertheless, a multitude of people recalled a time when they were in driving school, revealing how they had pretty tough guides who put a lot more pressure on them during practice sessions. One user recalled how his teacher was eating nasi lemak next to him as he drove, making him super nervous for his test.

“This teacher is good because although she braked at a sudden moment, he didn’t scold her. My teacher had scolded me and said not to brake suddenly as it would give him chest pains,” penned another person.

In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Firdaus stated that, having been a driver’s instructor for about 12 years, this method has always been his go-to when teaching students how to operate behind a car for the first time.

“Each student is taught differently based on their abilities, they all have their own strengths. There are those who learn fast, and those who need more time. But I continue my consistency with how I present lessons to them,” said Firdaus to WORLD OF BUZZ.
