When driving at night, especially on dark highways, we’re expected to be more alert and wary in order to avoid any unwanted accidents. Regardless, things can happen at the most unexpected of times.

Just last night (July 7), a Malaysian encountered one of the most shocking moments in his life when he accidentally hit a running tiger while driving on a dark highway somewhere in Kelantan. The driver stepped on the brake, but to no avail – and the tiger was unfortunately hit!

Surprisingly (and fortunately), the tiger appeared unharmed and immediately escaped into the dark like a champ! You can watch the 17-second clip here, which was shared by the Facebook page We Are Malaysians.

‘Maybank staff’ on the hunt!

It didn’t take long for the video to go viral with mixed reactions. Malaysians have since expressed what they feel about the video in the comment sections. Some actually felt hilarious about the incident and related it with Maybank, for its logo of a tiger.

‘Fortunately, it was Maybank, not CIMB. That will create another confusion.’

‘Maybank is on the hunt for people who don’t pay their loans.’

‘What’s your vehicle number? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I doubt I can hit a tiger in 10,000 years.’

In the meantime, other Malaysians shared their sympathy with the feline and wondered about the fate of the tiger who got away. They have also urged the relevant authorities to look for the tiger, in case it was injured.

‘Hopefully, the relevant authorities will try to look for the tiger. It might be hurt.’

‘They should build a bridge for the wild animals to pass through, just like in other countries.’

‘Hopefully, the tiger is fine. I pity the driver for the damage inflicted on the car too.’

We truly hope the tiger was not seriously injured and the driver does not suffer any major losses as well. If you were in a similar situation, what would you have done instead?
