Most people would rather spend their special occasions at fancy restaurants, but what if we each do one good thing for the planet as well on our days of celebration?
One Malaysian couple has ultimately decided to clean up beaches on their anniversaries!
Netizen, @SueKz93, took to her Twitter account to showcase how she and her husband not only clean beaches for their anniversaries but have also created a contraption to make their work easier!
She wrote, “I think it’s time for us to recreate this cool mini beach cleaner. Our anniversary project in year 2020. On our anniversaries, we all go for beach cleaning instead of a candle light dinners. We have all planned that for every anniversary and birthday, we must do charity work.”
Our beaches are not only dirty but that can be dangerous too as their young child was so close to getting hurt by a piece of broken glass while walking barefoot on a beach.
So, you must be wondering, what is this contraption we speak of?
Well, it is their DIY version of a trolley and a sift. All they need to do is drag the creation through the sand as it picks up all the rubbish and sieve the sand out.
They then separate out the items that actually do belong on the beach!
“Keep: shells, coconuts, plants, etc at the beach. Ditch: microplastics cigarette butts, etc away!”
Sue and her husband also utilise reusable gunny sacks to collect, segregate and recycle the rubbish.
This is truly an amazing effort that should be exemplified as there are way more people who litter than people who pick up after themselves and clean.
Kudos to Sue and her husband for making our beaches a cleaner place!

Ini cara guna. Utk kutip sampah kecik2 yg byk dlm pasir tu tanpa kaut pasir skali.
