A heartwarming story has caught the attention of Malaysians after a coffee shop staff member went out of their way to brighten the day of a young boy with autism.
His mother, Ain (@ain_xuan), shared on Threads that she took her son to a coffee shop in Pontian, Johor, after learning that he had not been selected for his school’s Special Education futsal team.

Ain explained that the news had left her son deeply frustrated and sad, as he had been incredibly hopeful about making the team.
“He even used his own savings to buy new futsal shoes. He was really upset, so I brought him to the coffee shop to cheer him up,” she wrote.
Upon arriving, Ain approached the staff and asked if they could write a small note on his order, hoping a few words of encouragement would lift her son’s mood.
“Even though the coffee shop was very busy, I thought they might have forgotten about it, but they didn’t,” she added.
A small note, a massive impact
To the young boy’s surprise, when his drink arrived, it came with a message that read:
“Don’t be sad, okay? You can always try again next year!”

The simple gesture instantly brought a smile back to his face, leaving Ain deeply moved by the staff’s kindness.
“My son read the note and was so happy. He immediately smiled again. You might think it was a small effort, but for a mother of a special needs child, it meant a lot to us. Thank you once again,” Ain said.

Spread kindness whenever possible
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Ain encouraged Malaysians to keep doing good, saying that even the smallest acts can bring happiness and make a big difference to others.
“My son has been very happy since yesterday because he received words of encouragement and prayers from people in Malaysia. He is autistic, so he is not able to clearly show when he is very excited, but as his mother, I can tell he was really excited reading all your comments.”
