A businessman will understand that there’s bound to be ups and downs in terms of sales, and revenue is not going to be as much as we always expect it to be. Some businessmen have to resort to digging into their personal savings to cover the expenses and the staff’s salary.

Malaysian businesswoman, Kieda, who sells desserts recently revealed in her TikTok post @kiedacrepepenang that she’s giving a bonus to all her staff. However, she had to dig through her personal savings for that as sales during Ramadhan thus far is not looking good.

Recently, Khairul Aming gave his staff thick bulks of bonus and treated them to Raya shopping.

Kieda admitted to “copying” Khairul Aming in how he appreciates his workers because Kieda herself would like to show the same appreciation, despite the financial circumstances.

Kieda added that initially, she couldn’t reward her staff due to the disappointing sales. With the intention to care about the well-being of her staff, Kieda changed her mind.

“Yes, I copied Khairul Aming in that because I like how he takes care of his staff. I told my workers that the Raya bonus this year came from my personal savings.”

For the bonus distribution, Kieda surprised her staff by ending the operation hours early and gave them the good news at the most unexpected time. Her business did not do well as expected but that doesn’t mean she wants to see everyone celebrating Raya with a frown.

“I want everyone in my team to celebrate Raya happily, so they can spend for their families.”

In the meantime, Kieda also apologised to her staff for not being able to give more than a Raya bonus this year. In the past years, Kieda would bring them for Raya shopping and despite the circumstances this year, Kieda “replaced” the Raya shopping by treating them to some basic household necessities.
