The allocation of allowance from the government is meant to help those who are in need, especially those who are struggling financially. However, some members of the Opposition are NOT happy about the government’s allocation of money.
They were baffled that the MADANI government did not allocate any money at all to them, even after more than a year of being in office.
“The government has never given us a single cent. Some of us here have ‘dropped down’ to B40 because of that,” Kuala Krai MP, Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman expressed in the Parliament recently.
Abdul Latiff said the “downgrade” to B40 is because the members of the Opposition have to share the allowances that were distributed to the public, especially during this season when the new school semester is about to commence.
He then hinted at the government’s empty promises by reminding them to take care of the well-being and welfare of the people. He said the message was intended to be heard by a country where everyone loves and cares about each other.
“You should take care of the problems of the people, but you’re good at making promises, and not good at keeping them.”
He added that the current government’s actions of not distributing allocations to opposition elected representatives not only break promises but also a sign of ignorance towards laws and rights.
Abdul has a message to the government in terms of how they carry out their responsibilities:
“A government should embiggen the small without shrinking the big, and strengthen the weak without weakening the powerful.”
Abdul then sent one last reminder before taking his seat, saying:
“Remember, the world is like a wheel. No one will last forever and no one can hold the sky.”
