There’s a few reasons as to why drivers and motorists on the road are constantly urged to keep their distance from other road users and avoid tailgating.

One reason is to avoid slamming into the vehicle in front of you in a situation where emergency brakes are used.

Here’s another reason.

A lorry in Thailand carrying long, sharp metal rods was following too closely to the car in front of him. Just then, one of the metal rods shot forward and pierced into the back of the car, all the way through the dashboard in the front. Luckily, no one was hurt, as showcased by 雪州网 MySelangor on their Facebook page.

This happened in Thailand and the car was hit from the back. It’s considered minimal damage and no matter how careful you are, this could not have been avoided. In short, the road is like the mouth of a tiger, hence drive carefully and safety first!”

Though, upon seeing the images, we don’t think it should be considered minimal damage, after all, the rod pierced from the back of the car all the way through the dashboard and possibly into the engine.

Hence, never forget, even if you’re a car, motorbike, lorry, van, bus or even a bicycle, distance is good.
