The weather these days has been a little crazy. One moment it can be bright and sunny and in another moment, the skies suddenly turn dark and you can see a storm brewing.
According to the meteorological department of Malaysia, what we’re facing now is a phenomenon named ‘La Nina’ which means little girl in Spanish. To know more about this phenomenon, you can click here.
In a statement, MET Malaysia says, “La Nina conditions are present” and there is a 60% chance that it will continue until December 2022. This will cause an increase in rain distribution.
“Weather conditions are expected to be humid in the north and interior of the peninsula, north and west of Sarawak and east and west of Sabah during the forecast period.”
Speaking on their forecast for the remaining months in 2022, MET Malaysia director, Muhammad Helmi Abdullah, told Berita Harian that there will be average amounts of rain in October and there might be short and small-scaled heavy rain and flash floods.
However, in November, especially starting from mid-November, there is a big chance that a big flood will happen, especially at the end of November.
With the Northeast monsoon active in December, there are high chances of continuous heavy rain and a big-scaled flood.
Well, if you need to be out and about in the following months, be sure to check the weather first using the MET Malaysia app named myCuaca (available on Google Play and App Store).
