Not long after the viral cross-dresser’s insensitive remark on Pak Lah’s death, another social media user was caught leaving an offensive remark in the comment section of the news covering Pak Lah’s state funeral.

“May his soul burn in hell.”

That was not all. The Facebook user also insulted one of the chapters in the Quran by inserting vulgarity into the Surah Al-Fatihah.

The insensitive comment has left many Muslim netizens in anger, and the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), in its official statement, said that it has taken action by reporting the matter to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). JAKIM said the remark was an insult towards Islam and the Muslim community, especially at a time when the country is mourning the loss of a leader who had contributed a lot.

“The insulting comment not only caused disharmony amongst the Muslims but can also cause tension among everyone.”

“Everyone is urged to stop leaving remarks that could cause anger and provocation.”

JAKIM director-general Sirajuddin Suhaimee said the report was filed to enable the authorities to carry out an investigation and take appropriate action.

JAKIM also reminded everyone to respect each other and take into consideration the sensitivities of all cultures and religions.

Earlier, a Malaysian cross-dresser was also slammed for “laughing” at Pak Lah’s death, and the man then apologised for the matter, saying that everything was a misunderstanding.
