Fast forward 8 years, the unfortunate woman is STILL not cured of the virus, and at times, she is still suffering from repeated outbreaks. In case you are not aware, the herpes virus, at the time of writing, has no cure. However, medications like Acyclovir and Valacyclovir can reduce the symptoms and lessen the severity of the outbreaks.
The woman had no idea about the viral infection until blisters started to appear around her lips. She got some anti-inflammatory treatment and stopped paying attention to it. When symptoms and outbreaks recurred, the doctor confirmed that it was herpes. Throughout these 8 years, the herpes continuously reappeared around her lips and nose, but recently, her cheeks started to suffer the outbreaks too.
She then shared her experience on social media in the hope of spreading awareness about the matter, reported Sin Chew.

Is the herpes virus deadly?
Once you get herpes, the virus, unfortunately, sticks with you for your entire life. Herpes can infect many parts of your body, including the genitals, and causes fluid-filled blisters that break open and crust over wherever the infection is
Also known as the herpes simplex virus, HSV is highly contagious. It spreads from person to person through skin-to-skin contact.
You can also get infected through saliva, vaginal discharge, and open sores, according to Cleveland Clinic. While the virus is not possible to eliminate once it enters your body, getting infected is not a death sentence. Antiviral medications can prevent the severity of the symptoms and outbreaks.
This shall serve as a reminder to clean the microphone before each use.
