In a disturbing post that was uploaded to a local Facebook group earlier today, a netizen named Susmita shared a harrowing experience she went through earlier this morning.
At around 1.45am this morning (17th October), 23-year-old Susmita, who studies at International Islamic University, and her friend were walking home at a neighbourhood in Bangsar. Then, as they were walking between Jalan Terasek 3 and 6, they bumped into a man (believed to be in his 40s), who was holding a knife.
The man immediately grabbed Susmita’s friend, putting the knife to her throat and threatening to cut her if she made a sound. However, presumably in a panic, her friend screamed, causing the man to stab her in the neck.
Breaking free from his grasp, the woman continued yelling for help and ran down the street, while the man proceeded to grab hold of Susmita instead. He demanded cash from her but ran away to Jalan Terasek 6 soon after finding out that she had nothing on her.
With Susmita’s friend covered in blood, the both of them yelled for help, hoping that someone from the nearby houses would open their doors and help them. Unfortunately, nobody came to their aid. An excerpt from her post reads,
“My friend was bleeding so bad. We were begging for help to nearby houses as we didn’t feel safe to walk to our own house. Some of them came out and closed the door. One of them said, ‘Go to another house’.”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Susmita said that she had already filed a police report, while the suspect remains at large for now. We have chosen not to reveal a copy of the report upon her request.
Let’s hope the perpetrator is caught by the police soon. Stay safe out there, everyone!
