Ew, this is disgusting!

Recently, a netizen was horrified when he found a dead baby rodent in his soy sauce chicken, which he tapau-ed from a small stall nearby. Yuck!

According to Lobak Merah, Azmi was on his way home after work when he stopped by the stall to buy some food. In a Facebook post, he wrote,

“I bought some food at a ‘warung’ where I would usually buy food. I bought two pieces of ‘ayam merah’ and two pieces of soy sauce chicken.”

After buying his food, Azmi went home to savour his meal. He scooped out the soy sauce chicken unto his plate and came across something that looked like a chicken’s gizzard.

Unsuspecting of the piece of ‘gizzard’ that he found, Azmi set it aside to eat it later. After a while, he realised that it wasn’t actually a chicken’s gizzard but a dead baby rat instead!

He was shocked by his discovery and gagged out whatever he ate. We can only imagine his horror of finding a rat in his food!

Nevertheless, Azmi didn’t throw out the rat as he re-packed it instead so that he could bring it back to the shop where he purchased the food. Having said that, Azmi insisted that his post on FB was not to criticise the shop, which is why he didn’t name them.

Perhaps, he just wanted to create some awareness, so always inspect your food guys!

We hope that Azmi will get some sort of compensation for finding the dead rodent in his food. As for the rest of us, let’s take this as a lesson to be more careful when buying food from smaller stalls and always remember to triple check what’s on our plate before putting anything into our mouth.
