We bet you have seen videos from Douyin (China’s TikTok) where they film someone attractive in slow motion.
Recently, one of these videos went viral as it features a tall woman dressed in a pink floral dress holding hands with an older gentleman dressed in the same colour.

After the video was reposted several times, many people recognised that the man in the video is Hu Jiyong, the executive director of China Huanqiu Contracting and Engineering (HQCEC). He also holds the positions of the general manager and the secretary of the company’s Chinese Communist Party Committee within HQCEC.
However, the plot twist is that the woman with whom he was holding hands was not his wife and it turns out that she is an employee of the company.
On 7 June, Dafeng News reported that the man has been removed from all 3 positions and the woman was also suspended. The company will also be investigating this matter and actions will be taken in accordance with their findings.
After how this drama came to be, some netizens wondered if the Douyin photographer had their permission to film them. The upload of the clip, Xiaomi, has said that they did not once ask to not be filmed or photographed and in another video, the woman even waved to the camera, reported Dahebao.
However, it seems that the one winner in this situation is the brand behind the dress the woman was wearing, Si Bleu. The owner of the brand told ShangYou News that they managed to sell 4,000 pieces of the “mistress dress”.
Who knew a viral video could cause this much drama? Well, it’s certainly good that their dirty little secret has come to light now.
