We’ve probably seen road rage videos before but this recent video that has been going viral is really something else! Indonesian social media was all abuzz on Feb 7 when this footage surfaced as it showed a young man going berserk by the roadside all because he received a summons from a police officer.
According to Kompas, the man clad in a white T-shirt has been identified as Adi Saputra and the incident reportedly took place in Serpong, South Tangerang around 6.30am. He was riding the motorcycle with a girl who is believed to be his girlfriend when the police officer, known as Oky, stopped him for several traffic violations.
In the 56-second video, Adi can be seen throwing a huge fit as he flips the motorcycle which almost lands on his girlfriend. He proceeds to dismantle it piece by piece even as his girlfriend tries to stop him. She can be heard crying and begging him to stop but he ignores her and continues with his little tantrum while cursing. You need to chill, bruh!
As if that wasn’t enough, he takes a huge rock and smashes it against the motorcycle several times while the police officer calmly stands by the side and watches Adi as he continues writing out the summons. Apparently, Detik reported that the police officer pulled him over when he saw Adi without a helmet and going against the traffic flow.
Then, when the officer asked him for his documents, it turns out that Adi did not have a driver’s licence, vehicle registration and had even forgotten to bring out his ID as well, the South Tangerang Police Traffic Unit Head Lalu Hedwin said. The motorcycle that was destroyed has since been seized by the police and taken as evidence.
New information has surfaced regarding the case, according to Okezone, as they reported that he was caught on video burning the motorcycle’s vehicle registration. That’s not all, Adi is now facing criminal charges as well as hefty fines for his numerous traffic violations as the motorcycle does not belong to him, but his girlfriend. That is NOT cool!
He has been charged with violating a statute on fencing, as he had performed a criminal act on an item that does not belong to him under Article 480 of the Criminal Code, South Tangerang Police Chief Ferdy Irawan said. If convicted, Adi could be sentenced to a maximum of four years in prison. He will also have to undergo a urine test to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol or illegal narcotics.
