Tomato and chili sauce are perhaps the most popular condiments to be served with dim sum. But after watching how this woman handled the sauce, I’ve completely lost my cravings towards dim sum.

Recently, a 50-second video was uploaded in a Facebook group and it instantly went viral. In just 15 hours, the video was shared over 1,500 times. Netizens strongly believed that this video was taken at one of the famous dim sum restaurant in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur.

In the video, a middle-aged woman appeared to be dealing with a few bottles of sauce. Apparently she was transferring the left over sauce from the finishing bottles into a new one. That’s totally fine but the problem was – she used her finger to dig out the sauce.

She was also seen shaking and knocking the bottle so that the hardened sauce would flow out into the new bottle. If it’s already hardened, why not just discard it?

After watching the video, netizens were horrified by the action of the woman as it was dirty and off-putting for the customers.

“This is very unhygienic. How can a person use her finger to dig out the sauce like that? I will definitely think twice before going to that dim sum shop again,” a Facebook user said.

“I understand that the woman didn’t want to waste the sauce, but using her finger to dig out the sauce is just too much,” another user commented.

Although majority of the netizens were against the woman’s action, one particular netizen begged to differ.

“She’s trying not to waste any food, but you criticised her for being disgusting. How did you know she didn’t wash her hand before that? If she did that behind closed doors, you won’t even know it and you would still be enjoying the food. She’s just trying to make a living by working there, is it necessary to call her out?” a netizen said.

I don’t know about you guys, but digging out the sauce with finger is totally not cool for me. Watchu guys think?

Here’s the video.
