Recently, Starbucks Malaysia announced its collaboration with a local Malaysian artist, Luqman Hakim. The announcement was made through a tweet on their official Twitter page on 25 August 2020. The young artist recently made a name for himself after his sketch of the Director-General Noor Hisham caught the attention of netizens. The DG himself also tweeted about it on his official Twitter account.

With all the attention Luqman was getting, it definitely caught the eyes of Starbucks. They decided to feature Luqman’s artwork on their new reusable cups. It will be available in five different exclusive designs created by the talented artist himself. The motives of the sketches are based on different frontliners who were there during the time of crisis.

The reusable cups were auctioned yesterday (24 August) and all the money collected went to a charity of Luqman’s choice. The auction was held on Starbucks Malaysia Facebook page.

Luqman, who is also a student at Multimedia University Cyberjaya, often shares his artwork on his personal Twitter account. It’s good to see young talents getting recognized. Even in the midst of this pandemic, there is still hope for people to achieve their dreams.
