Malaysia Records Huge Jump of 277 New Cases; 271 Are Foreigners, 4 Locals & 2 Are Imported

In the latest update by the Ministry of Health, 277 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded bringing the total number of cases in the country to 8,247. This is one of the highest spikes recorded over the past few weeks.

Out of the new cases recorded today (4 June), 271 are foreign workers from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot Cluster, four are locals and two are imported cases.

28 more recoveries have also been recorded, bringing the total number of cured patients to 6,559 while 1,573 cases remain active. This means that 79.53% of Covid-19 patients have recovered!

Six patients are currently in the intensive care unit with two of them needing breathing assistance.

Additionally, no new deaths were recorded today keeping the death toll at 115. This means that there no new deaths have been recorded for 13 consecutive days!

Please continue to practise social distancing and follow the SOPs set by the government.
