During the Covid-19 outbreak, individual action is more important than government action.

From staying at home to practising social distancing, taking reasonable precautions and self-isolation, it is the individuals that make a huge difference to help prevent the spreading of the virus.

Taking to Twitter, this family did just that when their mother tested positive for Covid-19.

In a tweet which received 6.5k retweets, the family urged members of the public who came into contact with their mother to get themselves tested immediately.

“We are sorry to inform you that our beloved mother, Siah Bt Jusoh is positive with Covid-19. We would like to urge individuals who have come into contact with her from the 16th to the 29th of March to perform Covid-19 screening at the Merapoh clinic.”

Displaying a heightened sense of responsibility, members of the public commended the family for making the brave announcement.

Clearly not wanting to be selfish and risking others with the virus, this is an exemplary action that can be followed by others in light of the outbreak.

Wanting to know more about the procedures involved should they suspect themselves of having Covid-19, one netizen stepped and asked what they should do if they show signs of catching the virus.

“I want to ask, if we show signs of the Covid-19 virus, should we inform the health department first or do we go straight to the hospital?”

In response, one netizen writes that those suspected of having the symptoms should call in first, and instructions will be issued afterwards.

Let’s emulate the actions of this family and try to be less selfish during the coronavirus outbreak, shall we?
