When we have a large sum of cash, we’ve always been taught to keep them in the bank, or at least somewhere safe. What do you think of keeping your cash in the refrigerator?

Just recently, a local singer, Ariff Bahran took to his TikTok account to “show off” the bulks of cash which he keeps in the fridge.

“When you’re hungry, do you need money or do you need food?” Arif wrote in his caption.

In the short clip, Ariff opened the door of the fridge and took out some cash, and pointed it to the camera before putting it back into the fridge. In another TikTok video, Arif is also seen paying for his new car in cash, which he dubbed the life of a trader.

It was only 15 seconds but the clip has gone viral, with many netizens criticising him for “showing off” behavior.

“This isn’t what Bill Gates does”

“Can’t you just store your cash properly in the bank?”

“Hopefully, we’ll not become a show-off like this.”

“I’ve never seen Bill Gates showing off his money like this.”

“The real show-off.”

“If you really have a lot of money, at least get yourself a better fridge.”

In response to one of the comments, Ariff, who is also a trader said that he does keep his money in the bank but when he looks at the cash, it makes him feel like he does not have enough.

“It makes you want to work harder.”
