One restaurant in Klang, Choon Guan Hainan Coffee 1956, is going viral for its initiative to feed the underprivileged.
The restaurant’s owner, David Kan Yew Weng, took to the MERU KLANG RESIDENTS OFFICIAL Facebook group to share his eatery’s initiative, which allows the underprivileged to pick out pre-paid meals, should they be hungry and have no money to buy food.
He wrote, “We understand that sometimes, life can be challenging. If you are hungry and have no money, these meals have already been paid for, for you. We are here to support our community because no one should go hungry.”
This initiative has since earned praise from Malaysians for spreading kindness and goodwill.
“We support good deeds!”
“I hope more eateries do this, I’m sure many are willing to contribute.”
It is not only the restaurant that deserves praise for this initiative but also the customers who were willing to contribute by pre-paying for the meals meant for the underprivileged.
We, too, hope that other restaurants can follow suit and establish similar initiatives to help our fellow community members in need.
