We like to do good things right? To make someone’s day bring warmth back to your own heart, whether it may be a small gesture like a smile or returning them their dropped item.
However, it’s not everyday that your good deed is be repaid back to you, especially instantly.
Facebook user Ezzaty shares her experience where her good deed was repaid more than 100 fold. In the post, she proves that nice guys don’t always finish last.
In a self title post “Price of RM2”, she writes:
Today i went to Shah Alam for a gathering, so i took the KTM from bt caves to shah alam. While queuing, an uncle lined up after me.
”Assalamualaikum pakcik, nak p mana?”
He smiled back at me and say ”shah alam”.
”oh sama lah kita ! 🙂 ”
Then i bought one ticket for adult and one for warga tua (because he’s 68).
He was stunned, then i said ”it’s okay pakcik, saya belanja”.
The whole journey, we talked to each other and he gave me his business card. I didn’t pay any attention to the card and straight away kept it in my purse. We talked about our families, career, and he told me he is muallaf (a term to categorize those who are ready to embrace the Islamic religion and/or the new Muslim converts) from sabah and ask me to tasmi’ his recitation, surah luqman 1-15.
Long story short, the last moment before we separated, he asked me. ”What book is that? Can i have a look?”
I said sure, and gave him the book titled, Langit Ilahi by Hilal Asyraf.
After we arrived, he said to me, ”be good, be genuine, i’ll pray for you in Mekkah” (he’s going for hajj this Sunday).
When I arrived home, i was surprised to see RM300 in my book!
I quickly went to my purse to find his card and realised that he’s the Captain and Project Director for Marine Engineering and Dredging Corporation.
Maybe that’s why he paid RM2 for RM300 :’)
God has promised, we won’t be poor by giving out a portion of our wealth for charity.
May God guide us all 🙂
