Kelantan Man Believed To Be Jealous, Allegedly Shoots Ex-Wife’s Car With Her 3 Kids Inside

Motivated by jealousy, a man in Kota Bharu, Kelantan allegedly fired shots at his ex-wife’s car while she was driving with her three children on Sunday (30 May).

According to Sinar Harian, the incident happened at Kampung Lorong Bayam Pinggir, Tapang at 7.30pm.

Head of the Kelantan Criminal Investigation Department, Assistant Commissioner Wan Khairuddin Wan Idris said the 30-year-old woman was on the way home with her three children, aged 13, five and three, when she heard what sounded like gunshots.

“While in Lorong Bayam Pinggir, Tapang, the woman heard a gunshot sound and the back windshield of the car was broken. However, the victim did not see the weapon,” he said.

He added that the woman believes the suspect is her ex-husband as she saw him following her based on the car he was using.

Wan Khairuddin said the woman and her children did not suffer any injuries and upon further inspection of the vehicle, no bullets or shell casings were found.

Furthermore, the public was also interrogated but no one heard any gunshots being fired.

The suspect was detained at his house in Kampung Badang, Jalan Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB) at 7am on Monday (31 May).

A remand order will be applied for the suspect in his 30s to conduct an investigation while the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
