A man in Johor was recently arrested after he was accused of raping both his underage daughters for 11 years when they were only 5 and 6 years old.

The 44-year-old man pleaded guilty to all 14 charges at court today, and was sentenced to 124 years in jail with 92 strokes of the cane.

1st to 3rd charges

The palm oil worker was sentenced to 21 years in prison and six strokes of the cane for the first to third charges for the offence of physically and sexually assaulting his daughter, who is now 16 years old. The act was committed against the victim ever since she was five years old at her home in Batu Pahat during the day and night between 2014 and 2022.

For this, he was charged under Sections 14 (a) and (d), as well as the Sexual Offences Against Children Act (SOCCA) 2017.

4th to 14th charges

The accused was charged with raping, sodomising and physically assaulting his eldest daughter, who is now 17 years old, at different locations including a hut in an oil palm plantation and a store between 2014 and May 2025.

The offence was committed under Section 376(3), Section 14(d), and Section 377C of the Penal Code, with the total sentence for all these offences adding up to 103 years’ imprisonment and 86 strokes of the cane.

However, the court ruled that the sentences under Section 376(3) and Sections 14(a) and (d) would run concurrently, while Section 16, the additional sentence, would run upon completion of the first sentence. This means that, for all 14 charges, the accused only needs to serve 22 years in prison and 24 strokes of the cane since Section 288 of the Criminal Procedure Code sets the maximum amount.

He ignored the victim, who was in pain after the sodomy

According to the fact sheets, one of the victims almost fainted and had shortness of breath after the sodomy, but the man ignored her even when the latter was pleading for help, reported Berita Harian.

The victim was also bleeding and was instructed not to tell anyone, including her mother, if she did not want to be harmed.

The victims eventually told their teacher and mother about the traumatic incident, which led to the man’s arrest.
