2020 is truly an unexpected year where everything has turned upside down.

Some were aiming to buy properties while others were planning to start families but it all changed when the fire nation Covid-19 attacked.

Recently, a Facebook post shared by Jack Tan in a group went viral as it talks about the tale of a certain UNITEN graduate who is now selling Masala tea in Brickfields.

The Facebook group is called UnderMYPayung and it aims to support small businesses during these unprecedented times so that they are able to survive.

Going back to the story, meet Kavie who graduated from UNITEN with a degree in Mechanical Engineering! Due to the pandemic, Mr. Kavie was not able to get an engineering job but he didn’t let that stop him.

Instead, he turned to do something that he is passionate about, which is Masala tea that he loves to drink and make. Kavie grabbed his bicycle and secret Masala tea recipe and set off to the streets of Brickfields! It is said that the origins of the idea came from India where people would sell things while cycling.

At about 3-5pm daily, you can see him in Brickfields paddling on his trusty bicycle. His Masala tea is said to be really, really good and he only sells 200 cups per day. It sells out very fast!

When Facebook user Jack Tan asks him why he only sells the tea at 3-5pm, he answered,

“Cause that’s the time people like to have tea!”

So if you’re ever around the Brickfields area and craving a cup of good Masala tea, don’t hesitate to WhatsApp Kavie @ 018 390 0171! He’ll come cycling straight to you.
