It seems like more secrets about Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) are being exposed. This time, it was found that a GISBH-linked bread product, Roti Ikhwan, is NOT Halal certified by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
The matter was confirmed by JAKIM itself via a Facebook post yesterday (September 15), where the organisation said Roti Ikhwan does not have a valid Halal certification.
In another statement on Facebook, Global Ikhwan Utara, who produced the bread admitted that its Halal certification expired on 31st May 2017, and here’s why the company did not renew the Halal certification.
“We have not renewed the certificate because our production factory has moved to a new location. The circulated image on social media is an old photo,” the statement said.
Global Ikhwan Utara also said they’re applying for a new Halal certification.
JAKIM said that a check on the Malaysia Halal Portal revealed the product does not hold a valid halal certification.
“We have reached out to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and the State Islamic Religious Departments to ensure immediate enforcement action is taken,” JAKIM said.
The company will also face legal action if the displayed halal logo on the bread is fake.
How did the halal logo come into question?
Earlier, Pusat Kajian Ajaran Sesat (Pukas) had questioned the authenticity of the JAKIM halal logo on the bread products in question by bringing it to attention via its social media.
Last week, GISBH went viral after PDRM raided welfare houses under the former’s management and rescued children from the houses of horror, where they were sodomised and taught to perform similar acts.
In a statement, GISBH denied all allegations and said they will take legal action to fight against the defamations.
