We may soon be allowed to watch movies in the theatre!

Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said that the situation of the cinemas not being allowed to operate has been brought up to the National Security Council.

Replying to a tweet from Golden Screen Cinemas regarding the reopening of movie theatres, Annuar Musa said: “Yes, I am aware of the situation of cinemas in Malaysia and I have brought this issue to the NSC along with other issues regarding the creative industry,”.

He added that the government will announce something soon, which brings up hopes for the reopening of cinemas after such a long time. GSC’s initial tweet was a reply to Annuar Musa’s initiative for the public to have a say or suggestion for the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia.

Annuar’s tweet received attention from some of the main cinemas in Malaysia like GSC, TGV Cinemas and LFS Cinemas. Along with many netizens, the cinemas hope to receive some good news very soon.

Being in lockdown for too long may have taken a toll on our mental well-being, so returning to the movie theatres sounds almost like a dream come true to Malaysians, especially with so many exciting movies coming up. Nevertheless, please prioritise your safety and health by getting vaccinated first.
