Langkawi’s MP, Suhaimi Abdullah recently “invited” Teresa Kok to Langkawi beach naked in response to the latter’s question about wearing shorts in Langkawi.

His response caused an uproar in the Parliament, and Malaysians were not happy to hear such a lewd invitation coming from a politician. Suhaimi, however, defended his remark and said that he was responding in a joking manner.

A provocative question gets a provocative response

Suhaimi said that he has known Teresa (Seputeh MP) for quite some time and both of them have maintained a good friendship, hence the “joke.”

“We’re good friends, so I was just joking as a friend.”

The Langkawi MP also said that Teresa was asking the question (Can we wear shorts to Langkawi beach) in a provocative manner. So, he believes that it was only fair to him to respond in a similar manner, reported Oriental Daily.

“She raised a provocative question, so I chose to reply in the same provocative way,” Suhaimi said.

He also urged anyone from all political parties NOT to make a big fuss out of this issue.

On Thursday (October 26), Suhaimi was discussing tourist attractions in Langkawi and invited the members of the Parliament to travel to the place. Terese then interrupted with the question, to which Suhaimi responded and said,

“I want to specially invite you (Teresa) to Langkawi without wearing anything!”

Regardless, even as a pair of good friends, do you think Suhaimi went a little too far with his “joke?”
