Malaysian actress Sophia Albarakbah recently addressed a scene from her upcoming horror film Tembuni Berdarah, which features her in a bathtub, as seen in the official trailer.
Sophia broke her silence after receiving criticism over the bathtub scene, clarifying that she was fully clothed during filming, although her attire was obscured by bubbles. She defended the scene, stating that it was aligned with the plot and was a crucial moment in the film.

“I acted in the scene because it was important to show the paranormal encounters experienced by Dr. Izara, the character I play in the movie.”
“I think the bathtub scene is fine because it fits the plot, and I don’t think there’s any need to make a big deal out of it,” Sophia explained.
She also expressed confidence that audiences would not question the scene, especially since she did not appear in a provocative manner. Sophia reiterated that she was clothed, but the bubbles concealed her outfit.
“I wouldn’t have accepted the scene if it was too much.”

The 32-year-old actress added that she knows her limits when it comes to acting and would not have agreed to the scene if she felt it was inappropriate for local audiences. In the trailer, Sophia’s character, Dr Izara, is also seen screaming in a cemetery, a scene she described as the most challenging to film, according to Harian Metro.
“That was a real cemetery. I had to scream for the scene at night.”

Tembuni Berdarah follows Dr Izara, a beautician obsessed with creating beauty products. When her products fail to gain attention, she turns to black magic in pursuit of success—only to face catastrophic consequences.
The film is set to be released in Malaysian cinemas on 25 September 2025.
