Chances are, you’re carefully holding your newly purchased iPhone 17, making sure it doesn’t touch the ground. But one man in Guangdong, China, decided to test the durability of the latest Apple device, by dropping it.

With the iPhone 17 in hand, the man raised his arm, ready to let the phone fall to the ground to see if the screen would crack. Before the experiment began, he jokingly asked the crowd if anyone would be interested in buying the phone at a high price, if the screen cracked.

Phone Drop On Floor

Spoiler alert: It did

Boom! The phone hit the ground, and when the man picked it up, he looked surprised and said:

“It cracked! Is it so fragile?” — as heard in a viral video on RED (Xiao Hong Shu).

Public Phone

He had purchased the phone less than a day earlier. Another viral photo showed a crowd gathering around as the brand-new iPhone 17 was disassembled on the spot.

According to Apple’s official store, the iPhone 17 starts at RM3,999. The device was announced last Wednesday (10 September), with pre-orders beginning two days later.

Crowds were also seen camping outside the Apple Store at TRX Mall in Kuala Lumpur, spending the night on 19 September ahead of its release to get their hands on the highly anticipated device.
