The Covid-19 pandemic saw us getting creative with how we remained social by attending virtual events online. Now, with that same concept in mind, Keep It Local Asia (KIL), wants to bring Southeast Asian artistes to the world!
With every episode of the MetaStraits series, a hybrid virtual-physical musical showcase, KIL champions 2 artistes from 2 different Asian countries each time. In partnership with NEAR Protocol and NxM News, not only will Malaysians get to enjoy the sights and sounds of some hella talented musicians, but those from other countries can also rock out alongside you.
And we’re glad to say that MetaStraits’ virtual show has so far been ridiculously well received by foreign fans!
We at WORLD OF BUZZ had the privilege of attending a hybrid MetaStraits show, with legendary Malaysian Rock and Roll band, Blister, hosting their launch party for their latest single, Blind Love at Pulse Soundworks, Kota Damansara.
They were supported by Singaporean opening act, Tommy Dean, who blew everyone away via a live-stream from Singapore.
Being melomaniacs ourselves, being able to catch Blister live in action at the physical show was truly wild but what made the experience so much more special was being able to connect to the virtual show in the Metaverse, where you could see people from all over the globe in the form of articulated mannequins and avatars enjoying the show with you!
In between performances in the virtual world, audience members can also check out and buy an exclusive NFT by the musician, and each musician performing at MetaStraits will also launch an exclusive NFT drop with Mintbase!
You don’t want to miss the next one!
Featuring Malaysia’s Ashtin and Roshan Isaac, the next installment of MetaStraits will be taking place on December 3, 2022 (Saturday).
The show starts at 9pm in the virtual world called The Playground, Cryptovoxels.
You can attend the virtual show, when it starts, here.
Until then, you can check out Blister and Tommy Dean for MetaStraits here:
We’ll see you in the Metaverse!
