There’s no harm in entertaining others but as a content creator, one should be wary when it comes to content that may be sensitive or a form of insult to others.

A Malaysian TikToker recently received major criticism online after 1 of her videos, which showed her pretending to fart into the microphone on a ship of the Royal Malaysian Navy. The TikToker got a rare opportunity to board the ship last month in Sabah during the 89th anniversary of the Royal Malaysian Navy but unfortunately, the opportunity was somehow abused.

She was seen walking inside the ship and explored around different places. She then entered the bridge (platform to command a ship) of the ship where she explored the types of equipment and when she saw the microphone, she had an idea to highlight her content.

She pretended to have a stomachache before she “farted” into the microphone, and a couple of Navy personnel were “shocked” to hear the fart from the speaker.

“How can she be free after the incident?”

As expected, many netizens thought the TikToker went overboard with her content, with some even calling it an insult not only towards the equipment of the military but also the organisation itself.

“I’ve watched her videos and I was thinking, how can she be free after such an insult and touching the assets of the Royal Malaysian Navy?”

“My husband is a Navy personnel, and I don’t even dare to enter the ship or his office. Even during an open day, I know my limit as a public.”

“Because of her, the public may not have access to the ship anymore.”

“The Ministry of Defense really should take strict action as a reminder to others.”

As of last night (12 May), the TikToker has since removed the original post and apologised for her behavior, saying that her intention is far from insulting the Royal Malaysian Navy.

In her apology, she also stated that she will visit the place once again to personally extend her apology.

At the time of writing (13 May), the Royal Malaysian Navy has yet to release a statement about the matter. Do you think she went overboard in creating this content?
