The Chief of the Army, General Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain today (March 11) stated that with the recommendation and support from the Malaysian Army Aviation (PUTD), they are able to convince the Malaysian Ministry of Defense to get 4 more Blackhawks.

“The Secretary General of the Malaysian Ministry of Defense informed that the procurement process is only waiting for the Seal of Acceptance (SST) phase,” Zamrose said.

He said that the Malaysian Army will acquire 4 new Blackhawks by May or June this year.

The Army Commander also confirmed that the acquisition of the Black Hawk helicopter was based on the wishes and needs voiced by the members of PUTD.

Earlier, Zamrose completed the inauguration of the establishment of the 883 PUTD Regiment.

“This team is responsible for determining that the operation and maintenance of the MD530G aircraft is carried out as planned,” Zamrose explained.

With the establishment of 883 PUTD, it is hoped that it will help improve the capability and effectiveness of the air force in the achievement of its vision and mission, as reported by Air Times.

Back in February 2022, the Army received 6 MD530G helicopters, which boosted the air tactical capability of this force in providing effective fire support.
