As the saying goes, “Clever clever squirrel jump, one day fall to the ground also.”

A snatch thief ran out of luck when he was rammed by a lorry just minutes after he had snatched a handbag from a mother and daughter. This incident took place in Jalan Jernai, Setapak on Friday (6 July) at 3.30pm, according to NST.

During the time of the incident, the two had just finished shopping at Setapak Sentral, according to Wangsa Maju district deputy police chief. It was understood that the 18-year-old daughter and her 57-year-old mother had placed a handbag inside their motorcycle basket.

“As they reached Sekolah Agama Taman Danau Kota, the suspect, on a motorcycle, made off with a handbag which was placed in the basket of the victims’ motorcycle,” the policeman said.

Furious of what had happened, the women gave chase and tailed him up to a junction along Jalan Gombak-Jalan Jernai. That’s when they rammed the culprit’s motorcycle, which resulted in all three of them falling off their bikes. Savage!

“The suspect managed to scramble to his feet and got on his motorcycle to escape. But before he could flee, a lorry came along and slammed into him.”

“The suspect is receiving treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL). The women, meanwhile, had bruises on their knees, elbows and wrists,” he added.

It was also reported that the suspect had sustained a fractured skull and a broken left arm. Checks done by the authorities revealed that the snatch thief has an extensive criminal record, including ten previous offences involving drugs.

Well to be honest, he got what he deserved. We hope he’ll receive an appropriate sentence for his various crimes. Meanwhile, stay safe out there guys!
